“I know, that at the end of the day, everyone wants the same thing: for the job to be done right. It’s my job to make that happen.”

Throughout his career, Andy Barrow has worked in many different areas of construction, so he understands all of the intricacies of a job site. Each particular aspect of a construction job presents its own challenges, which is why Andy’s experience makes him perfect to be the person in charge of tackling all of them.

As a foreman he’s overseeing each job from beginning to end, ensuring it’s completed on time and under budget.
Anthony Springer began his carpentry apprenticeship with Rhodey Construction in 2016, continuing on to become a carpenter foreman later that year. Today, as a general foreman, he has managed over a dozen equipment jobs, overseeing those involving CT’s, MRI’s and linear accelerators. Utilizing his talents, skills and experience, Anthony, along with his team, is able to work effectively to complete client projects of any scope or size from start to finish.

Not one to sit on the sidelines, Anthony takes pride in his ability to get the job done and get the job done right – not only for himself, but also for the success of the project. When it comes to his work, he likes to focus on three main things: craftsmanship, quality and efficiency. That focus carries through to the many details of the project, including doors, framing, wood blocking, hardware and trim. His greatest strength is his capability to handle all types of work in the field, and he strives to maintain the highest standards and quality throughout the entire process.

Some of his accomplishments include completing the Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) course through ASHE as well as obtaining his OSHA 30 certification. Anthony has a strong belief in ongoing training and works hard to better himself for his team and the Rhodey clients.
Adaptable and easy to work with, Anthony’s favorite part of the project is its completion and seeing a satisfied client.
Christopher (Chris) Bromwich joined the team at Rhodey Construction as a General Foreman. Prior to his current role, he worked in several trades. He has been a flooring installer, drywall hanger, residential framer, exterior specialist – and has even run his own company.

His diverse job experience has helped him gain a better understanding of the building process. In addition, due to his involvement in different stages and areas of construction, Chris also has extensive knowledge of deadlines in order to ensure a proper build.

As a General Foreman, Chris works on the layout of the build, assisting others on his team with wall placement. Once sketches and blueprints have been approved, he, along with the rest of the team, get to see the project begin to take shape from its bare bones. At this stage of the process, Chris sees the build as a piece of art that gradually begins to take form. From hospital conference rooms to football fields, Chris has a wide array of project management experience.

For Chris, one of the most enjoyable aspects of his job is getting to meet so many new people. Whether it’s the project managers, on-site foreman or any other employee working on the site, he believes everyone has a life story that’s interesting to hear and skillsets that can contribute to the project.

As a student at Winfield High School in Winfield, MO., he attended the building trades class at Pike-Lincoln Technical Center. He then went on to complete the St. Louis Carpenters Apprenticeship Program.

Superintendent Craig Gamache began his carpentry apprenticeship with Rhodey Construction in 2006 before going on to complete his journeyman training in 2011. His primary role today is on-site at Curium, a radio pharmaceutical plant, where he manages and oversees a variety of projects from start to finish. No matter the project scope or size, Craig’s team relies on his talents, skills and the ability to get the job done and done right. In fact, there are very few aspects of construction that Craig has not done as an employee at Rhodey.

In doing so, he’s involved in what he describes as the “big picture” of each project, not only listening to the desires of the client, but also communicating those desires, along with expectations, to the rest of the team in order to bring any project dreams to reality.

Like other team members, Craig takes pride in the work he does for clients, not only for himself, but also for the success of the project. A self-starter, his attention to detail, including craftsmanship, quality and efficiency, ensures every aspect of a job is performed with high standards at the forefront. Among his greatest strengths is his flexibility, working on different projects in the field and maintaining quality throughout the entire process.

General Laborer Foreman, Greg Stinchcomb, has been with the Rhodey team since 2004, always willing to step-in to do a variety of jobs wherever needed. Whether he’s leading a group of subcontractors or doing the work himself, Greg is an enthusiastic and trusted member of the team. His goal is to establish a close working relationship with co-workers and clients from the start, establishing trust throughout each and every project.

Greg’s strong work ethic is demonstrated by his effort to meet and exceed customer expectations. He strives to meet timeline schedules, with a goal to complete the project even before the client expects the job to be finished.
Priding himself as a “self-starter” and the “gets things done” guy, Greg attributes his success to his ability to excel and adapt quickly. Greg has held previous positions with Southwestern Bell and Inland Container.
Jason Appel re-joined Rhodey as a project manager in 2021 after working as a commercial developer and constructor. Prior to developing and managing multi-million dollar real estate properties Jason worked at Rhodey for over 12 years focusing in healthcare at BJC’s facilities. He appreciates the customer-centric attitude at Rhodey and understands that a client’s needs are always first and foremost and looks forward to continuing Rhodey’s strong owner relationships into the future. This belief has only been strengthened since spending time on the Owner’s side of the table.

In his role, Jason demonstrates exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills keeping projects on time and within budget—while delivering high-quality results. He is responsible for reviewing plans, soliciting subcontractor bids, awarding contracts, and managing the schedule and budget throughout the duration of the project.

After receiving his bachelor’s degree in 1998 in construction management from Southwest Missouri State University, Jason was an estimator in the field of new home construction and worked during college, hands-on, in residential remodeling.
“I really like that I can come into work and do what I think is right — do what’s going to be best for the client — and Rhodey has my back on every decision.”

General foreman Jason Nipper has spent his career as a carpenter, and it shows in his workmanship and his emphasis on quality. When he can, Jason puts on his tool belt and works right alongside his crew; on larger projects, he takes more of a supervisory role.

In addition to carpentry skills, Jason’s communication ability comes into play on every project. He talks daily with the project manager to ensure the right manpower and plan out the phases of a build, and he’s a key on-the-job contact for the project architect. More important, Jason is great at communicating with our clients, because his hands-on involvement in the project means he can provide detailed information about the work in progress. “When you take pride in your work, and that shows through to the client, they feel confident in the crew that’s on the job,” he says.

Jason takes a highly solution-oriented approach to the building process, and he appreciates that he has the authority to make smart decisions on the fly when an unforeseen problem crops up. He’s earned the trust of the architects that Rhodey works with, who know that Jason has a great eye for aesthetics and can bring their vision to life.

Jason joined Rhodey in 2007, starting as a carpenter and working his way up to general foreman. Prior to coming onboard, he worked in residential construction building multimillion-dollar homes — those refined architectural designs, high-end finishes and luxury materials sharpened both his carpentry skills and his attention to detail. He enjoys working for a company that values both customers and employees highly: “I’ve always treated the guys I work with like I want to be treated: with respect.
Jim Combest began his career in the trade by hanging drywall at 19 years old. To expand his skills, he spent six years as an apprentice at Waterhout Construction, which led him to Rhodey in 2007. Today, Jim serves as Superintendent on a number of significant projects.

Jim‘s professional approach is based on three pillars: communication, a proactive style and safety. His management skills are one of his greatest assets, allowing him to effectively set realistic schedules that allow builders enough time to provide the highest quality work. Not wanting to hold up any progress on the job, Jim seeks out the right information at the onset of a project and gets questions answered right away. By being enterprising and looking ahead during each project, Jim often circumvents potential problems, and should they arise, addresses them right away. Safety is at the top of his list — he ensures that everyone is following the rules and that accidents just don’t happen.
Jim’s ultimate satisfaction comes from upholding the Rhodey standards of quality. He enjoys the variety of the job and finds it exciting to start the next project, meet fresh challenges and work

“I try to make the client’s project run as smoothly as possible by being attentive to every detail. I try to make the process fun and enjoyable; if I keep them happy, then I know we’ll get another opportunity to work on their next project.”

As vice president, Jim Feldmann takes the lead on Rhodey’s healthcare-related construction business. His 20+ years of experience give him deep knowledge of medical facilities and a real sensitivity to the nature of these jobs. “I work with each institution’s facility and design team to develop a plan to keep the patients safe and the staff functioning,” he says.

Jim guides projects through the design development phase, providing valuable insights on construction feasibility and ensuring that renovation plans work with existing conditions and systems. He outlines each phase of construction (often involving simultaneous projects) to meet schedule and budget requirements while also respecting patient care.

With his strong communication skills, Jim maintains frequent contact with the client, subcontractors and with his right-hand man on the job: the superintendent. “Communication is key to being successful in this business. There are always issues that arise from field changes, conflicts in existing conditions or delayed lead times. As long as we communicate with each other, most situations resolve themselves easily.”

He earned his BS/BA degree in construction management with a minor in business from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville. He also received his Healthcare Contractor’s Certificate training from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering.

At Rhodey, Jim appreciates that the organization is built on mutual trust and respect for employees’ knowledge and experience. Pam Duffy, he says, encourages and enables her team to make their own well-informed decisions.

“I came to work with Rhodey because of the Firm’s reputation for quality and integrity. You just don’t find that every day.”

When he joined the Rhodey team, Jim Imperiale, LEED AP, DBIA, was already an industry veteran with more than 30 years of work in civil construction. Jim has experience in nearly every aspect of the business, from field work to management to business ownership, and he brings a high degree of integrity and fairness to his professional relationships. As a vice president in the company’s general construction and subcontractor services divisions, Jim oversees each step of the building process to successfully realize the customer’s vision.

Jim’s hands-on approach to each project begins with helping to determine specs and estimating. From there, he guides every aspect of the job, including field supervision, scheduling, client service, architect and engineer relationships, contracts and change orders, and preparing warranty packages as part of the closing phase. Jim takes a proactive and organized approach to project management, and he has an excellent track record of delivering projects on time and on budget.

After attending Fontbonne University as a business administration major, Jim owned his own concrete restoration company, where he directed projects at a high level and also managed
day-to-day issues.

Jim’s experience as a subcontractor working with Rhodey introduced him first-hand to the exceptional way that our company values our suppliers and subcontractors as well as our clients. Jim recognized that these relationships — built on partnership and trust — make our company stand apart. “I liked the culture of the company from the contacts I had made there,” he says.

Josh Witges joined the Rhodey Construction team in 2023. As a Project Manager, he works alongside other team members and clients to ensure everything is completed on time and within budget. This involves administrative duties, such as creating schedules, facilitating the construction process with other contractors, and gathering estimates and required permits for each job.

Before stepping into his role at Rhodey, Josh spent three years interning with general contractors gaining knowledge in site management, estimating and customer service. He also spent two years as a steel subcontractor. Josh has worked on multiple projects, including educational, industrial and healthcare builds.

Josh obtained his degree in Construction Management from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. When he’s not working with clients, he likes to spend time at home with his four-legged family members: two dogs and two cats.

Kevin Briggs has spent his career as a carpenter, and it shows in his workmanship and his emphasis on quality. When he can, Kevin puts on his tool belt and works right alongside his crew; on larger projects, he takes more of a supervisory role.

In addition to carpentry skills, Kevin’s communication ability comes into play on every project. He talks daily with the project manager to ensure the right manpower and plan out the phases of a build, and he’s a key on-the-job contact for the project architect. More important, Kevin is great at communicating with our clients, because his hands-on involvement in the project means he can provide detailed information about the work in progress.

Kevin takes a highly solution-oriented approach to the building process, and he appreciates that he has the authority to make smart decisions on the fly when an unforeseen problem crops up. He’s earned the trust of the architects that Rhodey works with, who know that Kevin has a great eye for aesthetics and can bring their vision to life.

In 2016, Kevin completed the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Superintendent Career Training Program.

“My grandfather taught me about how to treat clients. When you hire us, you’re getting the values and the trust that come with the company. It’s not just a business arrangement.”

Mackenzie Seiffert has literally grown up with the company founded by her grandfather, John Rhodey. She knows Rhodey’s team well — and many of our clients, too — because she began working in the business part-time at age 16.

Mackenzie joined her mother, Pam Duffy, in the family company as a full-time employee in 2007. As vice president, she works to keep client projects organized, coordinates with subcontractors and suppliers, documents key meetings and facilitates clear communication among the team and clients. Mackenzie’s work is instrumental in enabling project managers to focus on delivering great work that surpasses our clients’ expectations.

With a Bachelor’s degree from Benedictine College and an MBA from Lindenwood University, Mackenzie brings strong organizational and communications skills, the ability to work under deadlines, and strategic business training to her role at Rhodey. In 2019, she became a Certified Health Care Physical Environment Worker.

More important, she continues her grandfather’s values and vision for the company. As part of the family whose name is on the door, Mackenzie takes great personal pride in everything she does. She grew up embracing the company’s values as her own, and she learned from both John and Pam the importance of building relationships based on trust and doing whatever it takes to make our clients happy.

Matthew ‘Matt’ Hayes is a Carpenter General Foreman at Rhodey Construction. As part of his role, he supervises daily job tasks for his fellow Rhodey employees and sub-contractors to ensure everything goes as planned. Matt is also responsible for ordering project materials, reviewing schedules, and working with sub-contractors on safety and client compliance.

A carpenter by trade, Matt enjoys working and learning from other trades. Most importantly, he takes pride in every completed job and likes knowing the client couldn’t be happier with the finished product. Matt worked in residential and commercial framing as both an apprentice and a foreman and has experience working with project blueprints and understanding layouts, shooting elevations, and surveying. Additionally, he has worked on jobs involving metal and wood framing and drywall, as well as acoustical ceilings and concrete forms.

Matt has worked on several projects involving healthcare construction, electrical infrastructure, and industrial builds. He is First Aid/CPR/AED and OSHA 30 certified. He has also completed a 16-Hour
Millwright Safety Course and courses for construction fall protection, confined space entry, qualified rigging and signaling, and scaffold training. Matt is also a certified aerial lift operator.

Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids when not at work. All three are involved in
traveling sports, so they frequently travel to tournaments to watch them play. When he finds time, he likes to spend time outdoors fishing. Matt’s favorite quote: “Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don’t recognize them.”

Steve LeBrell serves as a superintendent for healthcare-related construction, and he manages some of Rhodey’s most challenging projects that involve medical personnel and their patients. When clients hire Rhodey to expand or renovate existing facilities, Steve is dedicated to coordinating with employees so that care is minimally disrupted.

Our healthcare clients tell us they particularly respect Steve’s conscientious, solution-oriented approach and his willingness to be flexible and accommodating when the construction team is working around patients and visitors. Clients value Steve’s leadership in ensuring stringent compliance with infection-control procedures.

Steve’s superintendent role involves overseeing construction, managing sizable crews and subcontractors, and coordinating schedules. Steve enjoys hands-on work in addition to supervising others. He collaborates closely with facility managers, project managers, charge nurses, security and infection-control experts.

Steve is dedicated to giving the client personal attention. “I do a lot of coordinating, personally walking through the project with the client to make sure the details are covered and that they’re happy. If there’s ever any question or any need, I’m right there on the job and can take care of it.” Additionally, Steve completed the training and testing requirements of the UBC Infection Control Risk Assessment ICRA in 2017.

After several years in commercial and residential construction, Steve joined Rhodey in 1988. He recall’s John Rhodey’s business philosophy, one that Pam has carried on. “John’s concept on the job was that he wanted things done right, and he didn’t care what effort was involved.” Coupled with a great reputation, Steve’s work reflects the company’s overall philosophy to work hard and get things done right.
