Scott Olson

“It’s great to know that I have the opportunity to work on and build projects that ultimately improve the lives of others.”

Scott Olson joined the Rhodey Construction team in 2022. With nearly 30 years of experience in construction management, his primary specialization is in Healthcare Construction, overseeing several complex developments, including hospital renovations, additions, equipment installations, new buildings and more.

As Senior Project Manager, Scott takes a proactive approach to any job – working directly with clients to plan and organize projects and lead them toward success. From budget creation and negotiating agreements and contracts to running everyday operations and managing team members, he has the necessary skillset to adapt to each project and fulfill its needs. He also enjoys the teamwork aspect of the job, working alongside others at Rhodey to accomplish lasting results. Scott graduated with a bachelor’s degree in construction management and a minor in business administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. In addition to being a Missouri Society for Healthcare Engineering (MOSHE) and Southern Illinois Chapter for Healthcare Engineering (SICHE) Member, he has also received OSHA 30- and 10-hour training and was an ASHE Certified HealthCare Constructor. Outside of work, Scott enjoys a healthy work/life balance – especially if it includes a beach – and spending quality time with his wife and two daughters.

Jason Appel

“We really enjoy what we do. The work is fun, challenging, and most of all; the end result offers a real sense of accomplishment.”

Jason Appel re-joined Rhodey as a project manager in 2021 after working as a commercial developer and constructor. Prior to developing and managing multi-million dollar real estate properties Jason worked at Rhodey for over 12 years focusing in healthcare at BJC’s facilities. He appreciates the customer-centric attitude at Rhodey and understands that a client’s needs are always first and foremost and looks forward to continuing Rhodey’s strong owner relationships into the future. This belief has only been strengthened since spending time on the Owner’s side of the table.

In his role, Jason demonstrates exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills keeping projects on time and within budget—while delivering high-quality results. He is responsible for reviewing plans, soliciting subcontractor bids, awarding contracts, and managing the schedule and budget throughout the duration of the project.

After receiving his bachelor’s degree in 1998 in construction management from Southwest Missouri State University, Jason was an estimator in the field of new home construction and worked during college, hands-on, in residential remodeling. Described as patient and particular about quality control, Jason enjoys his daily contact with clients.

Alex Cattoor

“A large part of our success comes from our ability to lean on other members of our team. By working together, we’re able to go above and beyond for our clients, regardless of what stage of the process we are in.”

Alex Cattoor began his career in the construction industry in 2007. He joined Rhodey as a Project Manager in 2018, bringing with him his strong belief in providing exceptional customer service, which has always been a proud staple of the company.

Having worked with several large general contractors in the past, Alex has extensive field experience in commercial construction and heavy civil work. His current role consists primarily of managing all facets of a project, including budgets, schedules, planning and design, construction and closeout. Additionally, he provides detailed assessments in order to determine the potential value of design changes, constructability suggestions, and innovative solutions to any issues that may arise throughout a project. Alex also coordinates with both field personnel and owners to ensure projects are progressing, while still maintaining an emphasis on both quality and safety.

After spending several years working as a third generation Journeyman Carpenter, Alex graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Missouri State University in December of 2009. Alex has also received extensive safety training, including OSHA’s 30 Hour Safety Certification, “Competent Person” training, and a multitude of task-specific trainings.
